Thrift Shop Art Legacy

While perusing a local thrift shop, I ran across a wildly cool little painting.     I had to buy it just because it was so cool and definitely out of place in the thrift shop. It also reminded me somewhat of my own art with mixed media, glitter paint, and paint texture. It’s inspiring to look at and makes me want to dive back into my own art. Seven Deadly Sins of Punk & Goth

  I’ve always had a fascination with the Seven Deadly Sins… Recently, I decided to do a layered collage series featuring Punk and Goth musical icons as the cardinal seven deadly sins. I glued the images to recycle cardboard then cut out with an X-Acto knife for a more 3D style of layering. Adventure in Bonaventure [photography]

  I took a mini-vacation this past week and went on a road trip down to the Charleston, SC area to visit family. While on this get-away, I decided to take a side trip to Savannah, Georgia to spend the first day of Spring wandering the beautiful Bonaventure Cemetery, made famous by the 1997 movie Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil. I was completely awestruck once entering inside the gates.   Beautiful just doesn’t even begin to explain the solemn splendor of this famous southern cemetery.
