Great American Road Trip

Get Your Kicks on Route 66!

Hey there! My name is Laura Bock, I am a writer and photographer from Northeast Ohio. I would like to take a moment to tell you about my idea for an original and creative grassroots advertising campaign featuring a quality American made car!

The Great American Road Trip in a Great American Car©

As a child, the only road trip I remember taking with my parents was to Kansas City, Missouri when I was around eight years old. During this trip, my dad told me how he always wanted to drive Route 66 when he was younger and fascinated me with stories of being out on the open road. After our trip, I looked up all I could in encyclopedias and magazines at the library about Route 66; ever since it’s been a dream of mine to do that trip.

In 2012 that dream and desire to make this trip came back around to me. Now at 46 years old, I am ready to take that trip. I want to drive the classic Route 66, round trip, for around 3 weeks total travel.

To honor those hard-working laborers of the past and present making Great American cars, I will make this trip in a Ford Escape SUV, which I will rent from one of the major car rental companies.

To help me make this trip a reality, what I am looking for are sponsors.

I have different sponsorship levels which all feature great advertising opportunities and exposure!

While driving Route 66 I plan to:

  • Take photos of the Great American car I am driving in front of different classic landmarks along Route 66 and share them on my website, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, and Google+

  • Write blogs about my adventures, making sure to mention the car, its features, and drivability along with gas mileage, and any other noteworthy opinions on the car. I will also talk about music and other tidbits as they relate to the trip.

I am looking to embark on this trip in late summer (August-September).

A little about my writing career:

Writing has been a passion for me ever since elementary school. I have published pieces on Rebelle Society, Elephant Journal, Thought Catalog, {Be You} Media Group, The Tattooed Buddha, and had a featured guest post on the popular blog Confessions of a Funeral Director. I was also a featured writer for the now-defunct online magazine Indie Chicks.

I have an active blog site, Tales of a Formerly Inadequate Fat Girl, where I write about music, pop-culture, living with depression and other life topics.

I will supplement these blog posts with paid local social media marketing and shares.

My Blog Facebook (1,268 likes) and Twitter (3,452 followers) are active accounts with real followers, as well as my Instagram (782 followers) and Pinterest (500 followers, 8.9k monthly viewers); I recently started using Google+ (61 followers), so my circles are slowly but surely growing. My blog is also set to share with my LinkedIn (566 followers), reaching my business network as well as my regular social network and my posts can also be found on Tumblr.

I will also be sharing posts on my Punk Rock Flea Market Lorain County Facebook (3,313 likes), Instagram (1044 followers), and Twitter (504 followers).

If you are interested in an original grassroots advertising campaign like this with me, please let me know which sponsorship level you want and I will start to plan our collaboration with this unique advertising and marketing opportunity!

Thank you so much for your time and consideration.

Yours in wanderlust and creativity,

Laura Bock
